Federal Surplus Property Program

Federal Surplus Property Program

Thank you for your interest in the Federal Surplus Property Program.

Excess federal property comes from many federal agencies and is handled by the Property Management Office under the Division of General Services.  Program guidelines and eligibility requirements for participation in the Alaska Federal Surplus Property Program are set out as established by Public Law 94-519 and by our State Plan of Operations.

Use of federal surplus property is encouraged. Qualified organizations throughout the State have recognized the benefits of using excess federal property to meet program objectives and save money.

Items available include but are not limited to:

  • Gym equipment
  • Musical instruments
  • Hardware, tools, and equipment
  • Building materials
  • Motorized vehicles and heavy equipment
  • Marine equipment and vessels
  • Aviation equipment and aircraft

To assure proper utilization of excess federal property, eligibility requirements for the federal surplus property program are conditional.
